On a sunny afternoon in a quiet suburb of Chicago some 45 years ago, a church choir rehearsal got underway. But as the singers began practicing their first song, Bernie Dusek found that he couldn't quite focus on the notes before him. After all, there was a new member in the soprano section; a young lady named Caroline, with a bright smile and beautiful voice. After a few songs, their eyes met.
